After a brief hiatus I'm back! I went on vacation to relax and recharge my batteries (including the artistic ones!), so I didn't produce too much. Well, to resume my activities, I decided to paint a simple observation study using as a reference the new Lara Croft of Tomb Raider games. Crystal Dynamics is developing a reboot of the series dealing with a younger and less sexualized character as it was before.

I thought the redesign of Lara was phenomenal! And after seeing the new trailer I was even more tempted to play this game, but for now, I decided to make a simple portrait for study purposes.

The reference was taken from the CGI trailer shown at E3 2011. The painting was done in Photoshop CS4 with a Wacom Tablet Intuos4.

Lara Croft and Tomb Raider franchise belongs to Square Enix.

This is incredible work, I really love the new re-imagining they have taken with the Lara character and ths picture capture it perfectly. Very well done!

Wow beautiful work! She's absolutely gorgeous :) I'm actually excited for this game the trailers make it look amazing I'm trying not to let my expectations soar though, just in case. But seeing this sparks me up! Great job.

Excellent job capturing the likeness of the "New Lara". I am excited about this project as well. I thought the old Tomb Raider was getting a bit cliche', hackneyed, and stale.
